Family
William was born to Nora Heflin (December 3, 1893 - 19 October 1969) and Clarence Lee Huffman (September 20, 1894 - July 5, 1982) on April 13, 1922. His parents had a total of nine children together. William's father died at the age of 87 in 1982 and his mother, Nora, died in 1969 at the age of 75.
The couple's oldest child, Mildred, was born in 1916. Their first son, Woodrow, was born in 1919. Annie, their third child, was born in 1921. William was born shortly after in 1922. On January 9, 1924, Walter Parker was born. Lorece Huffman was born in 1926 and Clarence in 1929. The US Census from 1940 also lists two other children in the household, Felix and Francis, who were five and seven years old.
The name that appears on the headstone of Clarence and Nora's fifth child is Walter Parker. However, the Census from 1930 lists the name "Parker Huffman" instead of Walter or Walter Parker. The child's age is shown and it was the same as Walter's age in 1930. In 1940, the Census lists the name "Parkes" to be the same age as Walter.
Lorece Huffman was four years old when the 1930 Census was collected. Her name appears on this Census as Lorece. However, in the 1940 Census, her name, like the name of her older brother, is replaced by a different one: Louise.
In 1930, the Census lists the family's address under Clarence, the head of the house, on Whites Road in Beat 1 in Oktibbeha County. In 1940, their address was on Self Crup Road in Oktibbeha County.
